- Does a tattoo removal procedure cause significant pain?
Older model lasers are photo-thermal lasers, meaning they work by heating up the ink (and surrounding skin tissue) . The Enlighten Laser is a photo-mechanical laser meaning it acts like little micro-hammers to break the ink into tiny particles. The pain from this tattoo laser removal is not from the laser itself but from the feeling of the ink blowing apart. Because of this, it is a little snappier than the old lasers (but also more effective). We can’t remove all the pain, but our skin cream diminishes it significantly. The first time you come we apply the cream and then teach you the most effective technique for using it. We do everything we can to make your experience a good one
- How does the procedure work?
With Enlighten, short and high-power picosecond laser pulse are used to break down ink particles in tattoos. The picosecond is 1,000 times shorter than the nanosecond pulses used in other lasers. The tattoos can be completely removed with fewer treatments required
The older methods of tattoo removal generally carried a high risk of developing scars. With laser technology such as enlighten, this is not the case. Most patients can expect to have their tattoos efficiently removed without concerns regarding scars
- Does enlighten work for all skin types?
Enlighten is proven to address tattoo inks for patients of all skin types
- Does it completely remove the tattoo?
In most cases, patients have seen their tattoos completely disappear. Certain ink colors are more difficult to clear than others. You can discuss these specific cases during the consultation
Most tattoos can be completely removed from anywhere between $500-$3,500 depending on the size. Sleeve tattoos may cost more. Customers pay as they go to avoid paying for unnecessary treatments and we offer discounts for multiple and larger tattoos. For a free quote, please contact us
- How many treatments does it take?
Most tattoos are removed in 5-7 treatments. We recommend waiting 8 weeks between treatments to give your skin time to break down the ink
